Why Outside Workouts Are Great For You!

Grab your Nikes and get outside. After reading this post, you will want to get off the couch and go outside for a killer workout!

Reasons to Workout Outside

  1. Fresh air - We all need it. The best time to get fresh air is between 6am and 10am when it’s still a little crisp outside.

  2. Stress reduction - Yes, you read that correctly. Working out outside in a calm, quiet, and fresh environment helps you clear your head and get out of the crazy work or life environment.

  3. Vitamin D, girl! Go to this Huffington Post article  to read more on what sun exposure can do for you. Just be sure to put on your sunscreen!

  4. Accessibility -  You can work out anywhere. NO more "I don't have a gym here" or I don't have any equipment" excuses! See below for some of my favorite outside workouts that show you don't need weights to get your sweat on.

Jumping Jack Squats 20x

Burpees 10x

Moving Jump Squats (side to side) 20x

Planks Knees to Elbow 30x

This weeks Sweat Pretty Client Highlight, Morgan Livingston!

Hi! I’m Morgan, and I’ve been “sweating pretty” with Mallory the last two summers. I originally came to Mallory with good cardio endurance, but needed some strength training - and boy did I get it. Since I’ve been working with Mallory, I’ve toned my tummy, back, and legs significantly. I fit way better in my clothes, but more importantly I feel better.

Mallory has helped me so much, in fact, that this summer, I signed up to climb Half Dome in Yosemite, bike 35 miles a day on a 7-day southern Italy trip, and run my first half marathon. Mallory has me addicted, and because of her, I have the confidence to push myself to expand my fitness limits. I could have never done this on my own.

My favorite Sweat Pretty activity is what I call the “devil ropes” - Mallory’s best tool of torture :) They are SUCH a good shoulder and core workout, and just 30 seconds knocks me out. If you sign up with her, you’ll know what I mean right away. Definitely a love-hate relationship.
